Playhouse

Now that the weather is getting cooler, Lilah always wants to be outside. She runs to the door and says "out" like 30 times a day. Robert has been working every weekend to get the backyard cleared out and sectioned off so the kids and the dogs have their own parts of the yard. He built a place to hang her swing and filled the kiddie pool with sand. I've been taking her out there everyday for the past couple of weeks. Well, I finally found the playhouse I wanted to get her on craigslist (if you don't me by now, I hate to pay full price for things) that was less than half the cost of new and kept inside so it wasn't dirty or faded. Robert got it all put together this weekend complete with it's own platform covered in outdoor carpet. It's considered a very early Christmas present. Even though we got a good deal it was still expensive but I think of it as a good investment because both kids will be playing in it for years. Anyway, here's a few pics of the new yard.

Vinn's 6th month well visit

Today was Vincent's 6 month check up (wow is he really 6 months already?). No surprise that he's a big baby. He weighs a little over 20 pounds (93rd percentile) and is over 28 inches tall (95th percentile). He did get some vaccines but we opted out of the H1N1 shot. Over he did well at the visit especially since he was overdue for a nap.

Grandma is here for the weekend so I suppose we will do a little bargain shopping tomorrow.

Target Deals

Yay for cold weather today! Finally!

Today we trucked off to Target for a few deals. First off I brought 4 $1 up and up wipe coupons. I got 2 packs of baby wipes for $.97 and 2 packs of toddler wipes for $.27 after coupons. Second I got some Pepperage Farms cookies for $1 using a Target and a Manufacture coupon. Third I got a Leapfrog Tag Junior Reading System (a Christmas present for Lilah). It was origionally $29.00 but I got it for $9 using both a Target and a Manufacture coupon and last I got some free batteries to go in the Leapfrog Tag by using a manufacture coupon with the batteries in the $1 section. I wanted to get a Santa Mr. Potato Head that's $5.99 but with the coupon I have it would have been $.99 - but they were out so I'm going to go back this weekend to get that and some more wipes.

Toys R Us Deal and Pears

We just got back from TRU and did the game deal. Toys R Us will offer a $10 Toys R Us gift card when you buy $25 worth of specified Hasbro games.

$3.99

Memory
Chutes & Ladders
Don't Break the Ice
Ants in the Pants
Don't Spill the Beans
Cootie
Candy Land
Hi Ho Cherry-O

There is also a $2 mail in rebate on each making these super cheap. The TRU I went to was out of a bunch so I just bought duplicates of the 3 they had (Candyland, Memory and Hi Ho Cherry-O). Going to another store across town was out of the question since I had the kiddos with me and Lilah needed a nap. I might give some as gifts and will donate some to Toys for Tots. I'm going to try and go to another one sometime this weekend.

Also, today was Vincent's first day having pears. I don't think he liked them but he's going to get more tomorrow!

My first post!

OK fellow bloggers and blog readers, this is my very first entry. I have no idea where I'm going with this blog or what I want to accomplish with it so there you go. Excited yet?

I guess I should introduce myself and tell you a little about me. My name is Christina and I'm married with 2 kids, Lilah Rosalie born April 10th 2008 and Vincent Stone, born May 10th 2009. They are exactly 13 months apart and are as different as night and day.

I live in Winter Park, Florida and stay at home with my kids. I'm trying to live a greener life and am also a sucker for good deals. I have started to clip coupons and search for great sales and free stuff. I don't really know what else to say so I guess you'll just have to learn more about me through my posts.

Today I am making Vincent's second baby food - pears. I started him on solid foods last week with sweet potatos. I definatly recommend parents make their baby's food. It doesn't take much time, it's easy, cheaper and and better for the environment. Plus, you know exactly what your baby is eating.

I'm also working on some Toy's R Us and Target deals. Update on that later.
